Not Recommended for Audiophile Freaks by Sheng Xiong
Honestly, I’m a little disappointed because it does not produce the full rich sound. I am using a high profile headphone, Seinheisser HD280, and also tested with various headphones, and can still could tell the difference. It does produce a clean sound which is a plus because I can hook it up to my amp and mess around with the equalizer to enhance the sound. Other than the sound production, it kicks […]. The radio is pretty cool, being able to see the stations and songs being played. Overall, this is a good MP3 player if you want to carry alot of files. But if your the type who loves listening to music with your headphones, this one falls a little short. My advice if your concern with the sound quality, take your favorite pair of headphones and test them out. At the back of my head, i want to return it, but i dont because of its strong overall features.

Pleasantly Surprised - excellent product by Heavy
I have been an ipod user for years and still appreciate ipod products. However, I did get a Zune 80GB and it is simply outstanding. The screen, battery time, durability, and scroll pad are just much better than I had expected. The device is sturdy and steady. I was just surprised by how much I like it. My friends and family, also ipod users, have also been very impressed. If you are on the fence, consider all options but you really should give Zune products a close look.

Zune 80 Quick and Dirty Review by spiritflare

Instead of reading through detailed reviews, i’ll give you the lowdown on the Zune 80.

Having owned Ipods before, i have to admit, the Ipods are fantastic, no question about it, but after playing with the Zune 80 for a couple of weeks, I have to say that the new generation of Zune’s is definitely better than the Ipod classic - here are my reasons:

1) Ease of Use - it’s easier to use than the Ipod. Can’t believe it? go try a zune menu - it just makes sense the way it works. No digging for items, it’s all there. Podcast Support - everything is there.

2) Built in RDS FM Radio - shows stations, etc. What more can you want, unlimited music to go, and great reception

3) Huge 3″ screen with optical glass cover - better than the Ipod.

4) Wireless syncing of music to your computer - no more cables!

5) Touch sensitive wheel like Ipod AND tactile (click) sensitive. Best of both worlds!

And it plays all your MP3s…forget the DRM crap - put your MP3s on it, and it all works fine.

The downsides? The software for the Zune (like Itunes) is not ready in my opinion. It’s slow, a little cumbersome, but if u’re patient, it works. It will definitely get better, it’s just a work in progress.

No internet browser like the Ipod Touch.

However, IF the Zune 80 had the internet connectivity (and it will in the next gen), then it would be the PERFECT player.

So if you’re looking for a near-perfect player, then the Zune 80 is 4/5, and the next Zune with internet will be perfect! Go get one and TRY it for yourself.

I love it by Paul Matthews
I’ve been using it non stop since I got it. 80GB is more space than I need so it will last me a long time. The battery life is pretty good - enough to get me through multi-stop international flights and then some. The headphones that come with it are the best I’ve ever had for an mp3 player and I really like that they are magnetic so if I only want to use one I can stick it to the other instead of having it just dangle around. I also like the radio feature, with option to select US, Europe, or Japan. I also like the Zune Social. It’s just a nice little feature to be able to post on social networking sites and my friends and family can see what I’m listening to and get recommendations from me.

The only things I don’t like are the lack of accessories. I everything I need but variety in docks would be nice. The biggest complaint I have, however, is the Zune Marketplace. The point system can be a pain. Having to constantly convert points to dollars in my head is annoying. It was done for compatibility with Live! but I wish they would at least give the option of paying with dollars instead of points. Plus, you have to buy points in increments, and a lot of times you’ll wind up with left over points you can’t do anything with - very annoying.

All in all, I very much like the product itself as an mp3 player. I already bought another for a birthday gift.
