Grab the Popcorn!. The is the most amazing TV ever! The picture is amazing! The sound is just as great as the picture without adding on surround sound. The in home delivery was great! They even can on Saturday and showed up earlier then expected!. The entire process from order to deliver took only 6 days. I just completed setting up the TV with HDMI and could not stop watching it. All I could say was WOW!. The picture is flawless and the response time when changing channels is exceptional. Well worth the price and you cannot beat the in home service offered by Amazon.com!!!!!!! I love Sharp LC32E67U .
This is the one!!!. We moved from a 50″ 720p/1080i plasma to this LCD 1080p 65 incher. Amazon truck shipped free and Sharp LC32E67U came less than 5 days after I ordered it, and 6 days before listed delivery date. I hardly had time to take the old plasma off the wall.
1080p is a HUGE difference. Especially on OTA digital HD transmissions, like PBS stations. I felt like I could reach out and grab those PBS puppets. Not just super clear, but almost 3-D looking.
The first thing I realized is the difference between a $1500 plasma and a $6000 LCD (I paid under $3000, however,) But this TV once did sell for around $6000. But the first thing you realize is this is the Cadillac of HD television. Looks great, picture and cabinet. Very rapid response time in operations. Lots of inputs. Top of the line menu system where you can control or tweak almost anything i.e. picture, operation, audio, Just fantastic!!! But one little thing that really got my praise is the universal remote that comes with the TV. Most remotes have buttons on top that you hit to select a function, like DVD, TV, CABLE, SAT. And remote challenged people in the household are always taking the remote and accidently pushing the wrong button. Then they cry “why is this thing not working on the TV?”. Its because they are in DVD mode or SAT mode, not TV mode. Well this remote is different. With LEDS next to each function, not a button, you press only ONE side button to cycle thru the various modes (displaying a lit LED next to the mode). So, a lot less mode buttons to mess up those remote challenged folks. I really like that setup.
This TV is the one for me!!!! Can’t wait to hook up the blu-ray player.
UPDATE 12/24
Still no issues with this tv. Don’t understand the heat or smell issue some talk about. This tv is MUCH cooler heat wise than the 50″ plasma. Even though there is a firmware update on the Sharp website, this TV most likely has newer firmware than listed on their site, already installed at the factory. So don’t update if you don’t need to. You’ll regress backwards.
And as far as wall brackets, the “”Bell’O Mount for Dummies 8335DB Tilt Mount for 27 to 84″ TVs”" works great.
One thing however… This bracket can be found for around $100, comes with a plastic fanny pack filled with all kinds of bolts to attach the bracket arms to the tv. None of the bolts in the included plastic pack’s were large enough to fit… that is until I discovered a set of included bolts that Bell’O tossed inside the carton box. Easily missed, since all other bolts are together in the clear labeled plastic fanny pack. These four bolts fit perfectly. So check the packing in the Bell’O carton before running to the hardware store for bolts. They are included, just check the carton.
PS. Blu-Ray looks G R E A T. THANKS SANTA!!!
The TV we’ve always wanted — finally at an affordable price!. I’ve been looking for a large screen TV for a long time and after reading all the positive reviews for this one, I finally bought Sharp LC32E67U with the special offer of a free Sharp Aquos Blu-Ray player. When we first set Sharp LC32E67U up, we did not have HD cable yet, and the local nightly news was on — the picture quality was just terrible and I noticed the slight odor everyone has talked about here, although Sharp LC32E67U was gone by the next morning. I was extremely disappointed with the picture quality, but later, while watching the regular digital cable programming I realized the quality was much better for most programs, although still not great. The picture quality seems to vary depending on the broadcast and I’m assuming the difference in the broadcasts depends on the quality of the filming. This TV will show EVERY FLAW in a low quality broadcast.
However, we had HD cable installed last week and most of the HD broadcasts are just remarkable on this set — I’ve been rewatching all the episodes of Showtime’s “The Tudors” in HD and they are just simply breathtaking!! Our local nightly news on HD is vastly improved over the regular version, but still not as good as I would hope — I assume that’s because they can’t afford to put out a high quality HD broadcast. But a lot of my favorite channels such as The History Channel and National Geographic have some simply awe inspiring HD programming!
And the Sharp Aquos blu-ray player that came with this TV is simply AMAZZZZING!!! With the blu-ray dvds you can see a beautiful clear picture from ANY angle, from the side, from below, and even standing right in front of the TV a foot away from the screen! When the cable installer was setting up our remotes, he turned on the Aquos blu-ray dvd player, and all he could say was “WOW!” — he was simply blown away by the picture quality of this TV!
Needless to say, we LOVE this TV!!! If you are NOT planning to use a blu-ray dvd player, or to get HD cable broadcasting, then I would not recommend that you buy this TV because you’ll be sorely disappointed. But if you are planning to go with HD broadcasting and blu-ray – it’s simply awesome!!!
