Great headphones for running. by J. Buerk
I’ve been using Sennheiser headphones for many hears. So when I bought an iPod Shuffle to use when running I looked to Sennheiser for headphones that would sound great and stay put.

I settled on the PMX70 due to the behind the head band design and their reputation for great sound range. I was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews about these being uncomfortable, or causing pain. But there were numerous reviews that said they worked great for them. So I decided to give them a try and if I didn’t like them I’d return them.

I am very happy with the headphones. The sound quality is much better than the earbuds that come with the ipods. Also they stay put when I run. I was concerned about sweating and so far it doesn’t interfere with the headphones or at least hasn’t hindered their performance. They don’t get in the way of my sunglasses either. That was a concern for standard over the head style headphones. The headphones let in ambient sound which is good. I haven’t been caught by surprise by not hearing sounds around me. I consider myself to have an average size head, these fit me well and do not pinch my ears or cause pain at all.

The only cons I can think of would be that the design wouldn’t work for everyone. Although I can appreciate some of the reviews where the fit was not so good. All I can say to that is make sure you ask about the return policy when you purchase these. The bass response is a function of fit, a better fit means better bass with most Sennheiser headphones. I also have a pair of Sennheiser PX100W Supra-Aural Foldable Mini Headphones (White) which also require proper fit to get the best sound. Besides these cons the only other con is the cord, which is wrapped around a plastic insert when it is manufactured and shipped. This causes it to coil up. This isn’t too much of a problem as I run the cord through my T shirt and tuck the excess into the waistband of my shorts.

i bought these as a gift for my husband. i was worried that these earphones would be too tight, as my husband is a big guy… but they are not and he says the sound is awesome!

I’m a runner so the headphones tend to get wet and fall off. I was tired of replacing headphone every year or so. So far these stay on my head; I prefer the neckband over ear buds. I hope they stay dry over time and won’t start crackling, smelling and losing sound in one ear. I don’t care about the color - this about function. Out of the packaging the cord remains coiled and I expect the cord to uncoil over time. Unlike other products the plastic packaging is easy to take apart - no need for razors blades. I tend to listen to voice instead of music so sound quality is not important to me as long as it’s clear.
