A Button Press Away from Great Sound
By pushing a single button, Belkin’s ClearScan technology will automatically scan to find the best FM frequency so that you can enjoy the music on your iPod static-free in your car. With an improved FM transmission, the sound is better than before. And the large LED tells you at exactly what frequency the music is being broadcast.
Once you find a clear station, you can set it to one of two presets on the TuneBase. This is especially useful around your local area and areas that you frequent, because you can quickly return to these stations at the touch of a button.

Pleased with the Belkin Tunebase by John Zanoff
I purchased this product a month ago to replace the XM radio I had when I purchased a new car. It pretty much works as advertised, easy to operate, and the sound is as good as any similar iPod transmitter I have used. The auto frequency feature is nice because I live in the DFW metroplex, and there are a ton of stations here. Have not had the chance to try it on the road yet, but for the price and features, it is hard to beat.
Ok, but not great by Greg Coley
This unit is great as far as it’s ability to cradle and charge my iPod. It’s FM transmitting ability is a joke though, and Clearscan is even a bigger joke. The only staions Clearscan finds are the strongest staions in the area…basically the opposite of what you want.
now it does offer a minijack to plug in a tape adapter, so that might be usefull to some people.
Could Be Better by J. Mertz
I bought this item and enjoy it. My only complaint is that the searcher doesn’t do very good finding a blank station and the signal it puts out isn’t very strong from what I’ve seen. I like everything else on it though.
Not compatible with 3rd Generation iPod by Gadget Ham
I bought this item for use with an older iPod (3rd generation, not Nano).
I tried it with two different iPods, and the result is that it locks
up the iPod completely! I also noticed that the iPod was not charging.
When I finally convinced the iPod to play a song, the audio was terrible even though the radio channel was clear of any stations.
On closer inspection, the manual states in tiny print:
“NOTE: iPod 3rd generation is not supported”. There is
no such warning on the outside of the package. Thanks
for nothing, Belkin!
I also noticed that the manual mentions that the firmware version of the
iPod is important. This is crazy for a device that is simply supposed to power the player and send the audio to the car radio! It appears that creeping elegance has undone this device.
