| Increase the peace! The PXC 250 features a noise reduction unit that cancels out background noise. |
When engaged, NoiseGard active noise reduction drops steady-state low-frequency noise (from about 500 Hz and below) by 15 dB–which the human ear perceives as more than halving the noise–thus enhancing the clarity of your music. The noise reduction circuit requires 2 AAA batteries (not included), but the headphones work fine without the circuit engaged.
Sennheiser’s fold and flip design lets you turn the ear pieces 90 degrees and fold the headphones closed. Their ported design lets them move more air for greater bass response.

Worked fine till they Broke ! by Daddy Bear
I was pleased with these headphones until last week. On a flight home, the left ear piece developed an extremely loud, high pitched squeal which has rendered this $100 purchase unusable. I was disappointed as I would expect a bit more mileage out of a product this expensive. A check of the Sennheiser website shows there are no longer warranteed so I am out of luck.
BUYER BEWARE; CONSUMER ALERT! by Enrique Hernandez
WARNING: DO NOT BUY SENNHEISER PRODUCTS FROM UNAUTHORIZED DEALERS. After mailing my headphones to Sennheiser for repair, I was called and told there was a problem because they were not purchased from an authorized dealer. I purchased them brand new here at Amazon from ELECTRONICA DIRECT, a seller often featured by Amazon right on the product page. Sennheiser told me that I probably purchased stolen phones. Shoppers who want the warranty honored SHOULD NOT BUY FROM ELECTRONICA DIRECT or any unauthorized dealer. Verify that the seller you are buying from is recognized by Sennheiser.
Compact and sound great by R. Angel
I have not had the luxury of some customers in being able to compare these headphones to other brands notably Bose but from the moment I turned on the noise cancelling unit and the sounds of the noisy bus all but disappeared I knew they could do what I bought them for.
THE GOOD: Compact
Lightweight and comfortable after extended periods of use
Beautiful midrange and treble.Bass is tight but not overdone.
Extra plugs included for airline and amplifier use.
NOT SO GOOD: The noise cancelling unit could be a nuisance especially if you don’t have pockets or a place to clip it.This was not a problem for me and I think a fair tradeoff for the actual headphones being so small and foldable.
The headphones don’t sound very good with the unit switched off so make sure you have backup batteries on longer trips.
I am very happy with these headphones and they are an absolute bargain.
What a difference! by A. Gallant
Purchased the Sennheiser PXC 250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones before traveling by plane from Maine to San Diego; they’re awesome. I couldn’t believe the difference they made. The guy sitting next to me on the plane tried them with his ipod, which they plugged right into, and his comment was “I’m in a whole new world”. They are small, lightweight, pack esily as they come with a travel case, come with adapters for the planes audio jack, and for under a hundred dollars they can’t be beat.
I am very pleased with my purchase.
