Pretty snazzy by Luke Sampson
I thought my remote wasn’t working, but thanks to Larry Brown’s review I realised I just had to plug it in harder until the light shows. Also another tip to note is that if you download and install the software you can disable the annoying device switching sounds.

Overall a very handy product, nice design and has worked well for me so far.

This product works fine, it does take a few seconds to switch from one pc to another (i have two ibm thinkpads).

I have a USB HUB that i have probably 8 peripherals plugged into, and i had to plug the KVM usb cable on the pc end into my hub, since my thinkpad port replicator only has one USB port. This works perfectly. It does disconnect the usb keyboard and mouse everytime you switch over, so that is the delay, you have to wait for usb to recognize the device.

Even though I have a port replicator with a DVI-D port for my personal home laptop, I do not have a docking station for my work laptop, and it only has a VGA port, so i had to connect both of them using the vga. However if i did have DVI-D ports on both of these, i would have bought the DVI-D version of this product.

I hate widescreen LCD’s and my work laptop has one, so now i can bring my work laptop to the big screen (my dell 2007fp) when i work from home.

I have not noticed any video degradation or any other such issues.

Additionally, I use a wireless logitech VX Revolution mouse, and this also works perfectly, all my custom assigned buttons work correctly with this device.

I wanted to get a KVM switch in order to switch back and forth between my G5 and my G4 and I found this, the Belkin F1DG102U Flip 2-Port KVM Switch with Audio Support (USB Connection). It’s not near as expensive as the Avocent KVM’s we use at work for our TV automation system (Windows NT), but after installing it and bringing both computers up, I have to say it works fine. I have read that people have problems with switching time, (I haven’t) and I didn’t connect the remote but instead use a hot key (cntrl-cntrl), and it’s quick. All I had to do was just hook both computers up and boot them up and it worked. So far I am happy with it as I go between both macs a good deal of the time.

As far as it not working for others, especially Wintel PC’s, I don’t know if it’s due to Windows buggy operating system or mixing windows versions (win 98/vista) or if it’s just that my Mac’s are more intuitive. I was prepared to have to find another kvm if this one didn’t work, yet it’s working fine. As a side note, I have always been a mac person and I do wonder if it’s just that Mac OS is more intuitive than Wintel (I work cross platform, so I know both OS’s) and that is the reason I haven’t had any trouble. I recommend it for anyone that wants the ability to switch between 2 computers without spending a fortune for a more expensive switch

Belkin F1DG102U Flip 2-Port KVM Switch with Audio Support (USB Connection)This switch worked the day I installed it. At boot-up the next day it did not work on either computer. After many fruitless attempts, I finally got it to go by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable to my computer; however, the unit failed to work again at boot-up. It appears that the only way for me to get it going is to unplug and re-plug the cable to the USB port on my computer each and every time I boot up. I tried using three different USB ports on the computer but got the same result each time.

I have the PS2 version of the same Belkin switch which works just fine all the time. I bought the USB version to use with a wireless USB keyboard/mouse. I switched back to the PS2 version and all works well now; however, I’m out 50-some dollars that I paid for the switch as well as the 120-some dollars that I paid for the USB wireless keyboard/mouse.
