These in-ear monitors are comfortable and block out just about all external noise. They block external noise so well that I find myself turning the volume on my iPod down to almost the very bottom, even at 10% it is too loud for me. The sound quality is great, worlds better than the earbuds that come with any MP3 player. The dual driver design seems to work as advertised, highs are nice and crisp while lows are strong but not overpowering. If you want the absolute deepest bass, the kind you hear in peoples’ cars when they add multiple subwoofers and a big amp without upgrading their midrange and high speakers, then these are not for you. If you are looking for nice, solid, controlled bass, then try these out.

One of the best features of these is the removable cord. One of the first things to wear out on earbuds is the wire. With these, you can order a replacement cord for $20 if the original ever breaks. Speaking of the removable cord, I recommend removing the cord from the monitors, reversing the wires (left cable on right monitor, right cable on left monitor) and putting the left monitor in your right ear and the right monitor in your left ear. You will still get proper imaging and you will probably get a better seal. I find this way to be much more comfortable, as the monitors do not stick out of your ears in this configuration, and you can lay on your side with them in. This mod is popular enough that you can find it on the Ultimate Ears web site.

With in-ear monitors getting a proper seal is essential to getting the bass response you expect. These come with five different types of end pieces, and you should try all of them until you find one that is comfortable, fully seals, and does not fall out when you move. Small air leaks make a huge difference in bass quality.

I have also tried the Triple.fi and while I feel it is a very good monitor that definitely sounds better than the Super.fi, I do not feel the difference is enough to justify the much higher price.

I am an audiophile, and for the price, the audio quality is 7/10. Solid construction, but not ideal for use when exercising because they tend to fall out of your ear. You may need to spend more $$$ to get true audiophile quality.

All new Mac Pro users should get a pair. The mess installed in the machines is decidedly backwards, just downright inferior. To listen to sweet stuff, grab a pair of UEs.

The ear buds stay seated in my ear canal and never slip out. They are not uncomfortable using for long periods of time. The flexible metal wire in the cord near the ear buds easily conforms to the curvature of the ear to help keep the earbuds in place. The sound is great. It is as if I am listening to my music all over again because of the the range these ear buds offer. I’m hearing parts of the song I never heard before. Noise canceling is sufficient enough as well. Most ambient noise from airplane, to TV and normal conversation are for the most part blocked. My only complaint is the length of the cord, its too short. Another 6 to 12 inches would have been perfect. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.
