Great product, the sound is really nice and you can feel the overall quality of the player. The only down side is I was hoping that you could actually controll all the I-Pod functions with the remote controll, but it actually only lets you change songs and adjust the volum +pause/mlay and mute.

After receiving my first IPOD for my B-Day, I was looking for a docking station so I could listen to it while at home. After reading the reviews on Amazon, I decided on the Athena iVoice. For the reasonable price, I feel the music quality is better than I expected even though I would like to crank the bass up just a little more. I am impressed with the modern styling of the iVoice. The remote must be directly pointed at the iVoice to work as discussed by other reviewers. For the large room that I listen to my music in, the sound is more than adequate. I am pleased with my purchase, and I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an inexpensive docking station with a pleasing sound.

I received my speakers and really enjoyed them until the unit started turning the volume up to MAXIMUM every time I turned it on. Quite embarassing considering I had it in my office! It was so loud it hurt my ears to get near it to turn it off. I called the manufacturer and they admitted some of these are defective and they’ve been having complaints. So if you get a decent unit, great - but there’s a chance it will be a hassle as mine was. I didn’t get a replacement based on the reviews I read online of several people having my same experience.

The iVoice is one of those products that proves a “brand name” is not always important. A friend has the similar Bose model and, to me, the iVoice sounds just as good or better! Even though I have not done this yet I suspect this unit will sound even better once securely mounted to a wall. I like how Athena handles the size variations of iPods with the rubber turn dial. The unit seems to have a very good build quality. I have successfully used this speaker with a second generation nano and an iPhone in ‘airplane mode’. The best sound that I have achieved is with my MacBook Pro laptop hooked into the iVoice with the auxiliary cable in the headphone jack. Just an FYI: my review is based on purchasing this product for about 1/3 of the original $150 asking price.
