I needed to replace my earbuds for my i-pod, so I gave the SE110’s a try. If you’ve never worn in-ear headphones, they take a little getting used to. They do a good job of isolating outside noise,so you will be able to turn down the volume. They sound better than the apple ear buds, but not too much, they lack a little low end. I would rate the apple about a 5, these would be 7-71/2. I think the better sound is due to the noise isolation. What I didn’t like was the cable. The two ear phone cables have a small jack that plugs into a (too) long and thick cable that connects to your source. The connection is kind of bulky and heavy(compared to the apple ear buds). If you are going to use them at the gym,I would stick with replacement ear buds.

These earbuds have the best fidelity of any I’ve tried but I’ve thrown them in a drawer as they’re impossible to wear comfortably. Yes, there are strategies to keep them in your ears without constantly having to adjust them but that requires unacceptable trade-offs. Moreover, even those fail or are too uncomfortable during times of heavy activity.

replacement for e2c by James L. Wright Jr.
I purchased these to replace a set of Shure e2c buds that I quite liked. Pros: lighter, comes with a shorter main piece and an extender which comes in handy (the previous set was simply loooong). Cons: the e2c cables were much thicker, which helped them hold up remarkably well under the punishment I give earbuds. All in all, the sound quality is great and the sound isolation is stellar.

Tried several different in-ear headphones. These seemed to work the best. Least painful, good sound, and created a good seal that kept out external sound well.
