decent sound quality, poor build quality by S. Ahmad
The headphones look nice, and sound decent. The clicker also seems to work 80% of the time.

The quality however, leaves much to be desired. Being fabric the sheath has quickly begun to show signs of wear. Most recently the left headphone stopped working as a result of a break right next to the input jack.

Being returned to Vmoda under warranty. Still inconvenienced by being w/o headphones for a few weeks + S&H fees.

The headset was the first to provide integrated mic/button for the iPhone, which was requested since the launch of the Apple phone. After having used Etymotics and Shure for my iPod and computing needs, the sound isolation provided by those two was far superior than what I’d call “faux” sound isolation on the V-Moda. That has been a concern for me since I discovered passive sound isolation, since it allows me to enjoy more details of the music at a lower volume and with less interruption from outside noises.

In terms of sound quality, it is good, definately better than the bundled headbuds. The small level of isolation helps to enjoy better music, but it does not provide the same level of intimacy that the Shure and Etymotics do. This becomes apparent in subway rides and flights, with constant noise. The V-moda just don’t seem to try much in this area. It is well built, the cloth exterior is an interesting touch and helps reduce the regular “thud” of in-ear headphones.

My gravest concern is that not four months since I got them, the right bud (the one with the mic and button) just died. At first I had thought the new rips I had made were coded as Mono, but after testing with other audio and video files on the phone I realized that it simply ceased working. Not with the long-drawn “loosening” of the wire like the Shure happened with heavy use; it just stopped working. The warranty does not cover shipping and whatnot, and I just don’t feel like giving them business for a sub-par product advertised as the best in the world.

EDIT: V-Moda promises to replace defective products within a year of purchase, but it won’t cover the expenses of shipping: to or FROM them. I’m not sure if my standards may be high, but why even deal with them if the’re not financially responsible for their defective products?

This is a very good V-MODA Vibe Duo Earbuds/Headset (iPhone Compatible) - Black I have ever had it.It’s sound great,clear and noise isolation is good,bass is heavy but it’s ok,just do the setting from the iphone.

Add my voice to the chorus of users who love the sound of these headphones, but hate the workmanship. I have owned two pairs of these headphones. The right bud in the first pair died after about two months. The same thing happened in the second pair after three weeks. I also agree that the microphone button is too small, and that fumbling for it when a phone call comes in is annoying.

If they ever fix this problem (with the sound in one or both of the buds dying) that many users are experiencing, I would definitely buy another pair. Until then, I don’t think the company should even be selling this product.
